" TOPSPIN verwandelt seit fast drei Jahren jeden Donnerstag den Solar Club auf der Reeperbahn in einen Rave mit Tischtennis Rundlauf und elektronischer Musik. “Rundlauf und Techno? Das klingt verrückt!” fragen sich viele und haben damit auch Recht. Für den kreativen Touch haben von Anfang an ganz besondere Tischtennisplatten gesorgt. Um der Verrücktheit der Veranstaltung gerecht zu werden, haben wir uns nach Künstler*innen umgesehen, die verrückt genug waren für uns eine Platte zu entwerfen. Die erste Platte musste, wie immer, schnell gehen. Also, ab auf Fiver! Mit viel Glück sind wir hier auf Galih Putra aus Indonesien und seine außerirdischen Illustrationen zu stoßen und die ALIEN Platte war geboren. Daraufhin haben wir uns auch an Künstler aus der Umgebung getraut. Satisfied Guy und Ben Helbach werden bestimmt nicht unbekannt sein. " TOPSPIN has been transforming the Solar Club on the Reeperbahn into a rave with table tennis and electronic music every Thursday for almost three years. “Round robin and techno? That sounds crazy!” many people ask themselves, and they are right. From the very beginning, very special table tennis tables provided the creative touch. To do justice to the craziness of the event, we looked around for artists who were crazy enough to design a table for us. As always, the first table had to be quick. So, off to Fiver! We were very lucky to come across Galih Putra from Indonesia and his alien illustrations and the ALIEN record was born. After that, we dared to work with local artists. Satisfied Guy and Ben Helbach will certainly not be unknown. You can see how it turned out outside on the balcony of the South Stand or at topspin.hh on Instagram."
