"Gemeinsam mit dem Fotografen Raphael Schumacher präsentiert SOS Humanity eine Fotoausstellung zum Thema Seenotrettung.
SOS Humanity ist eine Seenotrettungsorganisation, die mit dem Rettungsschiff Humanity 1 auf dem zentralen Mittelmeer im Einsatz ist. Die humanitäre Organisation setzt sich seit 10 Jahren für eine Welt ein, in der die Menschenrechte aller gewahrt werden. SOS Humanity rettet Menschen aus Seenot, versorgt sie würdevoll an Bord und bringt sie an einen sicheren Ort. Der gemeinnützige Verein bezeugt Menschenrechtsverletzungen an den maritimen Grenzen Europas und setzt sich auf See wie an Land für die Rechte von flüchtenden Menschen ein.
Raphael Schumacher hat an der Folkwang Universität Kunst und Design studiert, aber die meiste Zeit mit (bewegten) Bildern gearbeitet, nicht nur theoretisch, sondern praktisch. Menschen zuhören, Geschichten einfangen und das Innere auf einzigartige Weise visuell darstellen - darum geht es ihm."

"Together with photographer Raphael Schumacher, SOS Humanity is presenting a photo exhibition on the subject of sea rescue.
SOS Humanity is a sea rescue organization that operates in the central Mediterranean with the rescue ship Humanity 1. The humanitarian organization has been working for 10 years for a world in which the human rights of all are respected. SOS Humanity rescues people in distress at sea, cares for them with dignity on board and brings them to a place of safety. The non-profit organization bears witness to human rights violations at Europe's maritime borders and campaigns for the rights of refugees at sea and on land.
Raphael Schumacher studied art and design at Folkwang University, but spent most of his time working with (moving) images, not just in theory, but in practice. Listening to people, capturing stories and depicting the inside in a unique visual way - that's what he's all about."
