Artists in Exile: Kunst als Protestform
Kunst ist eine universelle Sprache, die Botschaften transportiert, Gehör verleiht und Menschen begeistert, bewegt und zusammenführt. Kunst ist die Sprache des Protests und der Solidarität und Ausdrucksform für Gefühle wie Angst und Hoffnung zugleich. Diese Wirkung wird ebenso geschätzt wie gefürchtet und zwingt bis heute viele Künstler*innen zur Flucht. So auch den sudanesischen Rapper Zeyo Mann, die ukrainische Künstlerin Aleksandra Kovaleva und die iranische Sängerin Faravaz Farvardini.
Die beiden Hosts, Pamela Owusu-Brenyah und Gianna Main, sprechen mit ihren Gäst*innen über deren Weg zur Kunst, über ihre Leben als Künstler*innen in ihren Herkunftsländern und im Exil sowie über die Bedeutung von Kunst als Protestform und über die Erfahrung, dass Beruf und Berufung sie zur Flucht zwangen.

Art is a universal language that transports messages, makes them heard and inspires, moves and brings people together. Art is the language of protest and solidarity and a form of expression for feelings such as fear and hope at the same time. This effect is as appreciated as it is feared, and to this day forces many artists to flee. This is also the case with the Sudanese rapper Zeyo Mann, the Ukrainian artist Aleksandra Kovaleva and the Iranian singer Faravaz Farvardini.
The two hosts, Pamela Owusu-Brenyah and Gianna Main, talk to their guests about their path to art, about their lives as artists in their countries of origin and in exile, as well as about the significance of art as a form of protest and about the experience that profession and vocation forced them to flee.
