"Gemeinsam mit dem MARKK Museum am Rothenbaum. Kulturen und Künste der Welt kommunizieren wir Wasser Botschaften. Das Museum stellt der Millerntor Gallery als Leihgabe eine Mami Wata Skulptur zur Verfügung. Die Mami Wata wurde von einem Künstler der Ewe (Name nicht dokumentiert) erstellt und vermutlich in den 1980er Jahren im Togo kreiert. Im Jahr 1989 wurde die Skulptur durch Dr. Wulf Lohse gekauft und in die Sammlung des MARKK aufgenommen.
Mit dem Kunstwerk wollen wir eine Verbindung schaffen von der Ausstellung Wasser Botschaften im MARKK zu MAKING WAVES der Millerntor Gallery.

"Together with the MARKK Museum am Rothenbaum. Cultures and Arts of the World we communicate water messages. The museum is loaning a Mami Wata sculpture to the Millerntor Gallery. The Mami Wata was created by an Ewe artist (name not documented) and is believed to have been created in Togo in the 1980s. In 1989, the sculpture was purchased by Dr. Wulf Lohse and added to the MARKK collection.
With the artwork we want to create a connection from the exhibition Water Messages in the MARKK to MAKING WAVES of the Millerntor Gallery."
