Silly Walks Discotheque
Von Hamburg in die Welt! Silly Walks, ein Reggae Soundsystem, Produzententeam und Label, sind seit 1991 - also seit mehr als 30 Jahren - aktiv und zählen damit zu den Pionieren der europäischen Reggae-Szene.
Angefangen in den 90er Jahren mit Gentleman am Mikrofon (der später zum Reggae-Superstar werden sollte), besteht die Crew heute aus Selector Oliver Schrader, einem der Gründer des Projekts, und MC Joscha Hoffmann, der seit 19 Jahren sein Können einbringt.
Bis heute gehören Silly Walks Discotheque zu den beliebtesten und meistgebuchten Formationen in Europa und touren durch den ganzen Kontinent und darüber hinaus - bis nach Afrika und Amerika reicht ihre Reichweite! Ihre musikalische Bandbreite umfasst alle Subgenres des Reggae, die sich über mehr als fünf Jahrzehnte erstrecken, und erstreckt sich auch auf African Cub Music.
Neben ihren Aktivitäten als DJs und Soundsystem zeichnen sich Silly Walks auch durch ihre Musikproduktion aus.
Nach der Veröffentlichung einiger Reggae-Genre-Klassiker (u.a. "Smile Jamaica" von Chronixx, "Dreams of Brighter Days" von Busy Signal & RC, "Soul Provider" von Romain Virgo und "Really Like You" von Sara Lugo & Protoje, die in 7 verschiedenen Ländern auf Platz 1 der Charts landeten), haben sich Silly Walks mit der Veröffentlichung ihres ersten Afrobeats-Albums "Forward" im Jahr 2022, das die Hit-Single "Maria" von CKay enthält, in Richtung afrikanische Popmusik entwickelt.
2023 feiert Silly Walks Discotheque sein 10-jähriges Bestehen mit einigen neuen Reggae- und Afrobeats-Veröffentlichungen und ausgewählten Shows in ganz Europa.

From Hamburg to the world! Silly Walks, a Reggae Soundsystem, producer team and label, are active since 1991 – more than 30 years – and thus count among the pioneers of the European Reggae Scene.
Starting out in the '90s with Gentleman on the mic (who would later become a Reggae-superstar), today the crew consists of Selector Oliver Schrader, one of the founders of the project, and MC Joscha Hoffmann, adding his skills for 19 years now.
To this day, Silly Walks Discotheque rank among the most popular and most booked formations in Europe, touring the whole continent and beyond – their reach extends to Africa and America! Their musical range covers all sub-genres of Reggae, spanning over five decades + and also extends to African Cub Music.
Next to their activities as DJs and Soundsystem, Silly Walks excel in producing music.
After releasing some Reggae Genre Classics (including Chronixx' "Smile Jamaica", Busy Signal & RC's "Dreams of Brighter Days", Romain Virgo's "Soul Provider" and Sara Lugo & Protoje's "Really Like You" that hit #1 charts rankings in 7 different countries), Silly Walks has diversified towards African Pop Music with the release of their first Afrobeats Album "Forward" in 2022, featuring the hit single "Maria" by CKay.
2023 marks the 10th anniversary of Silly Walks Discotheque's own digital label imprint and will be celebrated with some new Reggae and Afrobeats releases and selected shows across Europe.
